The Battle of Maldon depicts a town being invaded by a large number of soldiers, prompting the people of Maldon to rally together and defend against the attack. One individual, from a powerful noble family, delivered a stirring speech to inspire the people to fight back. Unfortunately, they ultimately perished in the battle.
However, I raise a question: why did everyone trust him when he claimed If someone told me that they came from noble lineage, were as strong as a bear, and invincible, my immediate reaction would be that it's not true. You are definitely not as strong as a bear and you are not invincible.
They believed him to be of noble lineage. they rallied behind him in battle, fighting valiantly and trading lives until one cowardly man caused their defeat, despite their unsuccessful attempts to hold the line.
In my opinion, they trusted him primarily because he was in a difficult situation and they were all defending their country and felt compelled to take action. However, they ultimately lost the Battle of Maldon due to the cowardice of one man.‘
These were my concluding comments on the Battle of Malden, illustrating how a single individual can disrupt an entire nation in the face of defeat, causing an unfortunate and unjust situation.
