As World War 2 raged on, the war became more and more brutal. People became more and more desensitized tides violence. If you saw a German civilian on the street, if your friend was killed, you would kill him, you wouldn't want to,o but you did because you did what you thought was right. Like batman the americans wanted justice and vengeance for their friends now i don't think they ever wanted to kill a civilian but honestly, they didn't care at that point if you saw your friends head get blown off and a bunch of other people die that you knew you would be so angry you wouldn't. The same can be said for generals who are in the 1st place have already been more brutal than the average soldier, having more cunning.ThTheres a famous quote saying No guts, no glory.
