In Snorri Sturluson's prose Edda, the dynamic between Loki and Odin as tricksters is complicated and cool. It is commonly understood that Loki is a trickster in theĀ Edda,but you have to delve deeper into their differences to fully appreciate the characters.


Loki, known for his cunning and mischievous nature, is a trickster. He causes chaos and he lies, often making him the antagonist. However, Odin, the Allfather and the wise ruler of Asgard, shows a whole different way to be a trickster.

The portrayal of Odin in modern media often overlooks his trickster qualities in favor of his wisdom and leadership abilities. This simplifies Odin's character but looses what makes his character rich in Norse mythology.
