the factors leading up to world war one was the blocking of a river that was vital for trade and food and putting tariffs on other goods that led other countries to start invading people which led to the trigger of franz duke ferdinand dying which was a catalyst for everyone fighting over territory land and everything germany just wanted their military to be tested so when eventually they lost everything was pinned on them which gave them massive debt that they couldn't really pay off so they eventually started world war 2 because they didn't know what to do
