In the play 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘰𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘍𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘴, there
is a prominent scene where Doctor Faustus promises to the devil that he will give the devil his soul if the devil gives him eternal power for 24 years. Now, why is it 24 years. I mean, it's not a round number? Why not make it 25 or 20? why? the importance of it could be an astrological sign? We're not really sure. I personally believe that it was the first number to come to his head. Maybe it was his favorite number.
Maybe Fiocchi doesn't want to be immortal. He could have asked for Infant years or even longer years. I think he wanted to know when he was going to die and then picked that number so that he could die on his own terms.
